About us

Welcome! We hope that you can put our travel advice to use in whatever country you decide to wander. We are a bit different than some blogs, because we actually visit all of the places that we write about. When we have an issue during our travels, or we wish that we had known something, we write about it. Like, when I accidentally waited for 4 hours on a hot Summer’s day to get into the Louvre during my first trip to France. Well, I later learned that there are secret entrances, and surprisingly affordable ways to skip that very line. That is what this site is all about – learning from our experience, so that you don’t have to experience the downsides of travel, only the upsides. Welcome to WanderBros!

A favorite quote of ours, by J.R.R. Tolkien says, “Not all those who wander are lost.” I completely agree. However, not all those who wander need to do it aimlessly with outdated information. That is where we come in. We travel constantly. While we do consult with thousands of resources, we blaze our own path and see what works. Before my first trip, I asked for advice from several people online. Thinking that they would know quite a bit, I made lists of questions. After asking a few, it became apparent that a lot of travelers don’t really know what they are doing. Many of them blindly follow TV hosts who often give incorrect or outdated information. What a terrible way to experience something with so much potential. Please understand, this site is the opposite of an outdated tour book, so if that is what you are looking for, you won’t find it here. #Sorrynotsorry.

With us, you will find methods that work. Like, how to make unlimited trips on the London metro for less than the cost of four regular rides – and far less than the cost of a taxi. We aren’t the type to give advice that we haven’t tried out ourselves. We just know some things about traveling that can make your trip affordable and fun at the same time. You can have the same experiences as every other traveler, but at a fraction of the cost.

We are dreamers, travelers, and on a budget. We have found a way to travel the world at a reasonable cost, without missing any of the important things on the list. We always thought that travel was expensive, but not if you know what you’re doing. When we see a flight for the same price as flying to New York, we book it. It happens more often than you would think. Once we are there, the average cost of hotels and food is the same as it is in any major city in the U.S. So the real question is, why haven’t you made the trip across the pond yet?

If finances are holding you back, read our helpful blog posts and pages to learn tips and tricks that you won’t find on outdated tv shows. I don’t want to name names here, but that guy who you always see on TV traveling around Europe leaves out a lot of valuable tips. Actually, he gives a lot of bad tips too. That information may have worked years ago, but these days, you need info that is fresh and relevant. That is where we come in. We know all about travel, because we book our own flights, hotels, attractions, and make our own dinner reservations – unlike that other guy. We scour sites like Tripadvisor and Trivago because we are real people, trying to travel at a low cost, but still see the world.
