We are excited to be heading back to London. There is so much to do in the UK, that we spent an entire week there last time, and still didn’t do all of the things that we wanted to do! This time around, we are only spending a few days there. The main things that we are going to be doing are Big Ben, the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace, and of course, Stonehenge.
Stonehenge has mixed reviews online, with some saying that it is amazing, and others saying that it is just a bunch of rocks, and a waste of time. Um, it’s not a waste of time, I can tell you that. It is actually one of the coolest places I have ever been. It is a mystery of the world, that very few people have seen. Even if you don’t have a strong desire to figure out how it got there, or who made it, you should check it out. The models of Stonehenge and the pictures online simply cannot do it any justice.
If you’re planning to visit, we strongly recommend Evanevanstours.com. They are an affordable option, with a good track record. You can depart directly from a main station in London so if you need to take public transit there, you can do that with no problem. Our tour started with about a 2 hour bus ride to Stonehenge, then we had 1.5-2 hours to explore Stonehenge (which was just barely the right amount of time), and then another 2 hours or so for the bus ride back.
Stonehenge is beautiful, and mysterious. You will want to take a lot of photo’s while you’re there. As with most adventures, your cell phone battery will not last the whole day, so be sure to buy a portable battery pack to take with you! I use this one, and I love it. Anker PowerCore IIIf you’re looking for a different one, I would advise you to stick to the “Anker” Brand, as they have a great reputation, and great products. It is the only brand that I use.
