Whenever I travel, charging my phone is high on my priority list. On my first trip to Europe, I brought a huge, heavy voltage converter and it was the worst. These days, all that most travelers need to charge are their phones, and iPad’s. Luckily for me, this solution is perfect for both of those things. And, if I might add, much lighter and smaller.
I love the Apple world travel adapter kit because I can use it with the Apple charger that came with my Ipad. If you don’t have an iPad charger, you should buy one anyway because it charges your phone much faster than the one that it came with. Win win. That is especially great when you want to take a quick nap in between tourist attractions and charge up your phone at the same time. You don’t have to worry about the voltage being higher than in the United States because these chargers are designed to charge Iphone’s in Europe too.
The way it works is that your charger has a removable part, the part that plugs into the outlet. You simply bring the adapters from your adapter kit, and slide them onto the charger when you get to your destination. This is especially great if you are traveling between countries with different outlets like the UK to France for example.
The “all in one” options that I have tried before are not as nice because there are several things to try and figure out, and a lot of those types of chargers are made by random companies which don’t always follow the industry standards. Having a defective charger in another country is not an optimal situation. That is why I buy Apple products that I know will work.
Be sure to bring along a few battery packs too! That way you can charge your phone throughout the day as well. You can also leave a battery pack charging during the day, while you rotate it with your other battery.
We only use Anker batteries, and Amazon cables because they are cheap and well made.
